Open to data, BI & operations roles

A little curiosity.
A clearer picture.

Hi, I'm Thuy.

I'm a UW Bothell graduate with a degree in Data Visualization and a minor in Informatics. Before that, I spent four years managing the inventory, vendors, staffing, and sales reporting side of a small business.

That’s where I started using Excel to make sense of product orders, margins, and day-to-day demand. I liked figuring out why the numbers didn’t add up, then making the process easier for the next person.

These days, I build maps, explore data, and work on tools that help people find a clear answer. I'm looking for a role where I can bring that curiosity and my operations experience together.

Thanks for stopping by,
Thuy

02 / Selected work

A few things I've worked on.

Maps, apps, and research. Each started with a question about the people who would use it.

01Data & maps

Peas on Earth

A team web GIS project exploring food access and transit equity across Seattle.

  • Mapbox GL JS
  • ArcGIS
  • JavaScript

The question

How can a map help people understand food access in relation to Seattle's transit network?

The work

I worked with a team on an interactive mapping app that brings civic data into one place. The project combines my interests in visualization, geography, and questions about the city I live in.

Take a look

The published app lets you explore the map yourself. This was a team project, and the live site includes our shared work.

02Web apps

Campus Cop

A campus safety reporting app built with a four-person team I led.

  • Firebase
  • React
  • Team leadership

The question

How could campus safety reporting be faster and clearer for students?

My part

I led a four-person team as we built a web app focused on campus safety. It gave me experience connecting a user-facing problem with the decisions involved in building and shipping an app.

The build

The project uses React and is deployed with Firebase. You can visit the live app to see the team's work.

03Research

Digital Age vs. Seattle's Homeless Elderly

UX research into digital accessibility barriers for elderly, unhoused Seattle residents.

  • UX research
  • Figma
  • Accessibility

The question

What happens when services move online, but the people who need them face barriers to digital access?

The work

This project explored digital accessibility for elderly, unhoused residents in Seattle and what services could do differently. It brought a research perspective to how I think about designing useful tools.
